How to Wash a New Stamped Concrete Patio
How to Wash a New Stamped Concrete Patio
One of the most important steps in providing a beautiful stamped patio is knowing when to, and how to, properly wash and scrub the surface in preparation of sealing your new stamped concrete patio.
Timing is The Key
If you’re going to be using a pressure washer to remove the antique release agents you need to make sure that you don’t get to close to the surface subsequently removing to much of the release and also possibly damaging the integrity of the surface of the concrete. We recommend waiting a full 24 hours after the concrete has been stamped before starting the washing process but no longer than 48 hours.
Soft Bristles or Course Bristles?
The longer you allow the release to stay on the surface of the concrete, the stiffer the bristles will need to be for scrubbing the surface. The direction in which the surface should be cleaned is important as well, you want to clean it in at least 2 different directions to prevent any streaking and unnatural looking lines.
